What is the history of the EXDO Event Center building?2018-04-21T08:39:29-06:00

On the very spot EXDO now sits, the Lindquist Cracker Company built a three-story, brick factory in the 1890’s. In the 1920’s, that factory was sold to Goldberg Brothers Tinners. At the time, “the factory on Walnut” as it was referred to informally was one of several factories owned and operated by Goldberg Brothers, who at the time was the second largest employer in the state of Colorado, behind only the Adolf Coors Brewing and Manufacturing Company. Goldberg Brothers manufactured thousands of different metal items but eventually became best known as the largest manufacturer of movie reels in the world. Not the film itself, the metal reels on which movies were stored. If you ever saw a movie played on film, it almost certainly was kept safe on a Goldberg Brothers metal reel.

In the 1940’s, the factory on Walnut burned to the ground due to a fire that started in the factory. Less than three years later Goldberg Brothers rebuilt the factory as the one-story structure you see today that has become EXDO Event Center. Goldberg continued their manufacturing operations in the building into the 1970’s. At that time they moved to a different factory but retained ownership until they sold the factory building to EXDO in 1999.

Goldberg Brothers is a historic Denver business icon still located in the metro area, and we are honored to give their former factory life with the hundreds of events that we host every year.

What does EXDO mean?2018-04-21T08:39:36-06:00

Denver likes its acronyms. LoDo stands for Lower Downtown, RiNo stands for River North, LoHi stands for Lower Highlands and so on. Long before the name River North was accepted as the name of the neighborhood in which we are located, planners called the area Extended Downtown or ExDo. EXDO Event Center was named during these years and although the area’s name changed over time, as an established business EXDO chose to keep its name unchanged.

Are there any restrictions to ticketed events?2018-04-20T09:27:12-06:00

No. If you are hosting an event that will be ticketed and open to the public, you can use whatever ticketing system you prefer.

Do you have parking available?2018-04-20T09:26:43-06:00

Yes. First and foremost, our neighborhood has free street parking on both sides of the street, which can accommodate the majority of your guests. Additionally, there are three separate parking lots adjacent to EXDO Event Center. The smallest lot with approximately 30 spaces is owned by EXDO and is immediately adjacent to our loading dock. This lot can be utilized by your staff and volunteers for free. If your event needs additional parking, there are also two pay lots immediately across Walnut Street that are open to the public.

Where is EXDO located?2018-04-20T09:25:54-06:00

EXDO Event Center is conveniently located at 1399 35th Street, Denver, CO 80205. That’s just north of Denver’s Central Business District and LoDo (Lower Downtown), and is less than ten minutes from the Colorado Convention Center.   We are easily accessed from both I-25 and I-70 and are just a few blocks walk from RTD A-Line’s 38th and Blake Street Station. No matter how your guests choose to arrive, our central location will make access convenient for all.

Do you allow sampling events?2018-09-27T16:35:14-06:00

Absolutely! The only current restrictions for food sampling events have to do with cooking devices and fire code restrictions. So long as those requirements are met, we welcome food sampling of all kinds. For beverages, as with all liquor licenses, the only restrictions are based upon having proper controls in place to limit over-consumption.

I see that EXDO has its own rentals, decorating, light and sound departments. Do I have to work with them or can I bring in my own designers and equipment?2018-04-20T09:22:38-06:00

EXDO Event Center is proud to have full production capabilities within our walls. These capabilities are what help make EXDO events extremely simple for event organizers to plan and execute. However, if you would prefer to work with your own designers for any reason, that is not a problem at all.

How high are your ceilings?2018-04-20T09:21:42-06:00

The majority of EXDO Event Center has tall, 16’ ceilings. However, the atrium area in the center of the room has even taller 22’ ceilings.

Do you have projection equipment for presentations or videos?2018-04-20T09:21:01-06:00

Yes. Our stage is backdropped by a 16’ LED High Definition screen which is appropriate for videos, slide presentations, sponsor acknowledgements or any other visual aids you wish to use. Additionally, for events such as dinners that utilize round tables, we have two smaller projection screens on opposing sides of the room so no matter where a guest is sitting, they can easily view the presentation.   If you are considering hosting a music event, the LED screen can become an interactive part of the performance.

Does EXDO have breakout rooms for corporate or educational events?2018-04-20T09:19:53-06:00

While EXDO is one large, open space, we do have two options for breakout rooms. First, depending on when your event takes place, we have access to a separate but connected 1,100 sq. ft. room which can be used as a breakout area. Second, we often create breakout areas within EXDO’s main room using pipe and drape. With this technique we can create multiple spaces for an event.

Do you have any sample floorplans from past events?2018-04-21T09:19:46-06:00

Absolutely. Please understand that all events are unique and specifically tailored for your event, but below are a few sample floor layouts to give you a general idea of how the space can be utilized.

I loved my EXDO event. Can I leave a testimonial?2018-03-21T09:32:54-06:00

Please do! We’d appreciate if you leave us a review on Facebook and Google, or you can email us your feedback at info@exdoevents.com. We love to hear from you!

Does EXDO have a bar inside the venue?2018-04-20T09:23:11-06:00

Yes. EXDO Event Center is proud to offer full-service bars with hundreds of drink choices for your guests, served with care by our in-house, professional bartenders. At EXDO, you don’t need to settle for a small catering cart limited to a handful of choices.

Can EXDO events be catered?2018-04-20T09:24:31-06:00

Definitely! Because we choose to focus on the venue and making your event a success, we turn over catering to our trusted list of preferred caterers. You can choose whichever caterer you prefer and negotiate your own menu and pricing directly with them to make sure your affair is perfect. EXDO offers a full service bar, so we are happy to provide all beverage needs for your event.

You can see our preferred caterers here.

Can I visit EXDO before booking?2018-03-21T09:08:52-06:00

Of course! To schedule a showing, call us at +1 (303) 468-5443 or email info@exdoevents.com.

Is there enough space for events that require movement and physical activities?2018-04-20T09:22:13-06:00

Yes! EXDO Event Center is a former factory and our tall ceilings and smooth floors can be used for almost any activity you can dream up. The only limitation would be activities that utilize implements such as balls. Because EXDO has lights and sound equipment permanently attached to our ceiling, we cannot allow any activities that could damage that equipment.

How many guests does EXDO Event Center accommodate?2018-04-20T09:18:02-06:00

While EXDO is a 14,000 sq. ft. space, we can use pipe and drape to cordon off part of the room so that it feels great for an event less than 100 people. Our most common seated dinner configuration uses 6’ round tables that accommodate 10 people each. With this configuration, 600-650 is the maximum we recommend for comfort purposes but we could fit up to 700 if there are no needs for a silent auction area, etc. If you are a standing room only event such as a concert, we can fit more, but please contact us with details so we can give an accurate guest quantity.

Will I have to share the event space?2018-03-21T09:05:49-06:00

Our spaces are tailored for you and your event only. Your event will have exclusive access to the entire venue.

When can I host my event?2018-03-21T09:05:27-06:00

EXDO can be open as early or as late as necessary for your event. We’ll work with you to figure out the scheduling that works best for your specific needs.

Where can I find a price quote?2018-04-20T09:16:40-06:00

We would be happy to provide you with a complete quote. Please use our inquiry form and we will create a specific price quote for your event.

What are the technical capabilities of EXDO?2018-04-20T09:28:22-06:00

EXDO Event Center was built for sound. With a state-of-the-art JBL Vertec Powered Line Array sound system, our system has been referred to by more than one promoter as the best system of its type in the country.

Add to that the best lighting system and technicians in the city, complete with lasers, a 16’ modular LED screen and more lights than you can count, and EXDO Event Center in Denver will rock any concert or event. From Kanye to Sublime, LeAnn Rimes to Train, and all of the singers and DJ’s who have graced our former factory turned event center, we can handle any light and sound production needs. Im am sure this place is great for smaller events but, I went to see Carl Cox there and it was way too packed for the size of the venue. I rated it 3 because it took about an hour to get a drink and to get from one side of the stage to the other was another long journey not to mention the line. The show was great after all the waisted time though.

Went for the Kevin Larsen produced Mardi Grass event 2020. I've been to this location four times for similar events. A place I would have never found or considered going, but my girlfriend bought the tickets. It's actually a killer venue for events but prepare to bring out your wild side and leave your judgment at home. Great diversity and a great place to have fun.

This event center never fails to surprise. It is big and spread out inside. The outdoor area is awesome. Easy to access from multiple points, the different areas are separated so that you can have different things going on at once without disrupting the other areas. The bars throughout are a huge win. Easy to see this venue hosting a wide array of events. Easy to get to no matter where you are coming from. Parking mostly stinks, but with the area it is expected.

We attended a memorial service here. Although it wasn't necessarily a party, the facility was ideal for the event, and the service was great. Through this difficult situation, they made us as comfortable as possible and made us feel welcome. The facility is so unique and it has a great vibe. It would be great if we were going to be staying in town to attend a show or other fun event here. We visit a few times a year, so now we will be looking at their schedule in the future when we plan our trips so we can attend one of their events for pleasure!

This place is all about who hosts the event and how the staff manages things. That said I've had some amazing times here. Very versatile spot for all types of events.

We had a great time for their Roller Disco night! You have to sign a waiver before you go in and you can do it online, you might want to do that before you get there to save time. I've only been there once so I don't really know what other things they do there besides that.

Unique. Classy. Fun. Bigger than you would imagine. Surprisingly hip. But the staff, is what really matters. Each person I had the opportunity to associate with was beyond professional, knowledgeable about the concerns I had. Genuinely nice and friendly. Great job

Had a great time at pan pot. Plenty of room to dance. Plenty of bar tenders to make sure you did not wait long for a drink. Nice outside smoking area.

I love to skate, so I usually go to Exdo once a month for their skating event and drinking whiskey from adult sippy cups! I always have a blast. Cool vibes, good tunes, with the option to just roll around wherever. There's always a fun theme too, so you can wear what you feel and nobody will notice. I highly recommend checking it out!

It's a nice venue. I enjoy it most when the adjoining doors are open between Exdo and Tracks. This was not the case during the Drag Nation night I attended, which was a little disappointing.

The facility cuz a nice mix of nightclub City Street and all in between. Places very colorful they even have rainbows at the bar. If you are hosting a big event this place is one of a handful of options in the metro area that is well priced. Shout out to the security team for being watchful for any outside issues.

I checked out EXDO event center while they hosted the Bloody Mary Festival. The space was very clean lots of natural lighting from the windows and we'll marked exits. It's seems they cap crowds which made it very walkable and little to no over crowding. Plenty of parking available next to and near by. I would certainly host an event or party there. Overall great experience 👍

I volunteered for the event and worked the registration/ticket table. I learned some things I never knew and some of the exhibitors had very interesting presentations and they gave away a lot of gift to the attendees. $6 for a bottle of water was ridiculous, but otherwise had a good time.

Great venue with loads of space, several bars, lots of rest rooms, great outdoor space, and fantastic sound systems in three different rooms. When it gets busy, getting drink can be a task, but other than that it's a great place to enjoy a true dance club environment or hang outside with your pals.

"Roll" was absolutely amazing! The space enabled the roller rink setup. Very, very cool. I'd like to see the EXDO space set up for other stuff before giving a more detailed review. Bathrooms and building were accessible, it's right next to one of the best queer clubs in Denver.... Need I say much more?

I had my senior prom here, and it was really cute. They had good lemon water and cherry and lime water as well as quite a few various sweets for the students. It was decorated really well too, and the venue itself was quite roomy despite there being 400 students plus the teachers there. There was even adequate seating for those who needed to sit for a bit, which is rare for these types of occasions. Overall a very good night. 🙂

The venue itself seemed ok but it was very dark so it was hard to tell if it was clean or nice. The lack of stars comes from the food catering that was provided for the event. When you know 200+ people are coming and it takes 30 minutes to stand in line to be served food then you know the service was ill prepared. The food tasted terrible. Would rather just have had fast food rather than what was served.

We were here for a gala and it was quite a nice venue for such an event. You can really decorate it any way you want to make it customised to your event theme. There are 2 spaces too so people can mingle in one and you can have food in another or however you want to arrange it. They AV set up to is good.

A couple friends and I went here. Two great dance floors, one playing "house" music the other a good mixture of 80s and 90s. Bars and bartenders placed strategically throughout. Nice space out back between buildings, get some fresh air, drink of water, etc.Plus, once a month they do adult roller skating, which is fun!

I actually really love this space and it's really close to both home and work which is awesome. Bartenders are always great, DJs generally kill it. I will probably never be back, though, exclusively because of the rude, incompetent and overbearing security staff. I've never been overly drunk or confrontational, and I'm generally compliant to security staff when I'm out. So, the fact that I've been yelled at, lectured and followed around by several of the staff here leaves a super gross taste in my mouth. Plenty of places to dance in town where I don't feel like I need to look out for mother hen.

This place is huge and relatively easy to navigate. I do wish the restroom facilities were maintained a bit better. I was here for a tech conference that was predominantly male, so it's kind of odd that the women's restrooms were often out of toilet paper.
